Call for Proposals for 2025 JSSS Conference
Please download and read the CFP. Then click the Submit Proposal button to enter our proposal system where you will first create an account and then submit the proposal.
Proposals should be submitted via the JSSS website by January 31, 2025. All submissions will be acknowledged and then peer reviewed. All submitters will be notified of the outcome by March 1, 2025. The registration deadline for presenters is April 20, 2025.
Conference Registration & Logistics
Location: Loyola University Chicago, Lake Shore Campus, 1032 W Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL 60626
Accommodations: Accommodations at Loyola’s Francis Hall dormitory are available at the special rate of at the special rate of $117.40 (with tax) per night for single or $88.05 (with tax) per person per night for double. Double rooms must be booked by one of the roommates for both people at the cost for both people is $176.10 (with tax) per night. You will be able to book the dormitory during the registration process and the entire cost must be paid at the time of registration.
As an alternative, attendees can reserve rooms at the Hampton Inn Loyola for $219 per night by booking online at https://group.hamptoninn.com/03gzgz.
Conference Fee: The conference attendance fee includes attendance at all four days of the conference, the banquet, and one year’s membership in the JSSS. The conference fee is $370 for regular attendees and $320 for student attendees. A one-day conference attendance fee available to the non-presenters only is $125. The one-day fee includes a one year’s membership in the JSSS but it does not include the banquet; the banquet can be purchased separately by April 20, 2024.
Grants to cover the conference fee: A limited number of conference grants for those with financial need will be offered for the conference participants. These grants will cover the conference registration fees of recipients. Recipients will still be responsible for all other costs associated with the conference, including travel expenses and lodging. Those receiving a stipend cannot be reimbursed as volunteers. Please fill out the Grant Application Form to by March 21, 2025 to apply. Recipients will be notified by March 30, 2025.
Volunteering at the conference: There will be a few opportunities to volunteer by providing help at the registration desk and with technology during presentations throughout the conference. These volunteers will receive a $170 reduction in the conference fee. Volunteer signup will be offered as part of the conference registration process. Our Care for the World: You are encouraged to offset the carbon effects of your travel. The JSSS will make a contribution of $500 to offset the carbon impact of the conference. A $10 contribution is included in this year’s conference fee to replenish the Society’s Sustainability Fund for next year’s conference.
Terms and Conditions

- The conference registration deadline for presenters to be included in the program is April 20, 2025.
- The conference committee may reallocate presentation formats other than those requested.
- Each room will be equipped with a screen, projector, podium, and microphone. Presenters are expected to use their own laptops that will support USB-C and HDMI connections. Other types of connectors may not be available so bring your own adapter if needed. Volunteers will be available to help you get connected, but we expect you to know your own laptop and notify the technology team ahead of time at technology@jungiansociety.org if you have audio/visual needs beyond the basics.
- Note: Roundtable presentations will not have audio/visual technology available since several people will be presenting at the same time.
- Artists are responsible for setup, teardown, and placement of their visual art.
- Cancellation Fee Policy: If you cancel your registration before April 24, 2025 you will receive a full refund minus the transaction fee (for regular registration, $11.55; for student registration — $10.00). If you cancel your registration between April 24, 2025, and May 15, 2025, you will receive a 50% refund. There will be no refund if you cancel after May 15, 2025. Participants are asked to rely on their own travel insurance plans should it become necessary to cancel your conference attendance for any reason.
